Marc Brenzikofer
Born in 1965, Marc Brenzikofer lives and works in Biel-Benken, Baselland. His fascination with photography began at the age of twelve, when he received his first Kodak camera — a formative moment that sparked a lifelong dedication to the medium. From early on, he immersed himself in black-and-white photography, developing hundreds of images in his own darkroom and cultivating a deep understanding of light, contrast, and tonal nuance.
Over more than four decades, Brenzikofer has refined his visual language as a self-taught artist, bridging the analog and digital eras. With the arrival of digital photography in the world of SLR cameras, he embraced the technological shift while maintaining the discipline and sensitivity shaped by traditional darkroom practice.
Brenzikofer’s work reflects a sustained commitment to photographic craft and perception. His images are grounded in patience, observation, and technical precision — revealing a quiet intensity that emerges from years of experience and a deep respect for the medium’s capacity to translate atmosphere into image.
