From Matter to Energy is a solo exhibition by Antimo Bertolino, presenting a body of sculptural work that reflects on the profound relationship between the physical world and the unseen forces that move through it. Through intricately carved wooden forms, Antimo engages with the ancient question of how matter transforms—how weight becomes motion, how surface becomes emotion, and how the tangible opens a pathway toward the spiritual.
In this exhibition, each sculpture emerges as a point of connection between human experience and the larger rhythms of the universe. The carved grooves, shifting planes, and carefully shaped voids evoke both geological time and inner landscapes, reminding us that our inspirations, perceptions, and inner stirrings often arise from forces far greater than ourselves. Antimo’s work invites us to slow down, to enter into stillness, and to sense the quiet energetic exchanges that exist between body, material, and cosmos.
Guided by a curatorial vision that seeks to explore humanity’s evolving dialogue with the universe, From Matter to Energy offers more than an encounter with sculptural craft; it offers a moment of contemplation. Here, form becomes a vessel for meaning, and energy becomes a metaphor for the continuous transformation that shapes both our world and our inner lives.
During the vernissage on 24 April, a newly created sculptural piece was revealed to the public for the first time, marking another step in Antimo Bertolino’s ongoing exploration of material, memory, and transcendence.
